Apprenticeship as a brush maker (m/f/d)
Putting hair, bristles or synthetic fibres into metal sleeves – can’t anyone do that? Far from it, this craft, which is over 200 years old, demands a lot of patience and creativity from the apprentices. Especially when it comes to manufacturing individual brushes and special brushes to customer specifications.
Responsibility / main tasks
Brushes are not all the same: as a brush maker, you not only need a lot of sure instinct, you can also be incredibly creative.
- Making brushes and paintbrushes according to requirements
- Classical handicraft activities such as sawing, planing or drilling
- Selecting suitable materials and tools
- Monitoring production processes
- Checking the quality of products
- Prepare and store types of bristles and hairs
Qualifications / exigences
Required graduation: Hauptschulabschluss (graduation of secondary modern school)
Education: dual (academic and in-plant)
Duration of the education: 3 years
Working hours: on workdays
